CLEVELAND - The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is conducting a county-wide mailing of 691,970 Vote by Mail ballot applications for the September 7th Primary Election. The mailing marks the debut of a new ballot application that is designed to make it easier for voters to complete the required information needed to receive a ballot. The application includes a return, postage-paid envelope. The mailing will begin on July 21st.
Voters need to be aware of this election which is the next step in electing leaders for the new county government system. “The September primary is the first county-wide September election ever held and includes 95 candidates,” said Jane Platten, Director of the Board of Elections. “Voting by mail allows voters extra time to study and research the candidates in this historic election.”
Partisan voters in the September 7th Primary Election will cast ballots for Democratic, Republican, Green, and Libertarian candidates running for County Executive and County Council. The primary election winners will face each other and Independent candidates in the November 2nd General Election.
Voters may also obtain ballot applications from the Board of Elections website, www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us or by calling the Voter Information Hotline at 216-443-3298.
Ballots will be mailed to voters after August 3, 2010.
